Angry Housewives
Eating Bon Bons
By Lorna Landvik

Angry Housewives eating Bon Bons is about as predictable of a book as you will ever read.

The Story revolves around five women and follows their friendship through forty years full of the usual ups and downs in addition to divorces, abuse, a homosexual child, death and alcoholism. The Author lacks originality in her character development, making each woman's physical description match the traditional stereotype.

For example, Slip a staunch feminist, is short masculine and unattractive, while Merit, the abused wife, is beautiful shy and helpless. The only thing that makes this book different than the other novels focused on women's life long friendships is that this friendship is based on a book club which we all know is very popular among women today.

Despite my criticism of the book I did find it an enjoyable summer read, engaging but not demanding too much thought or imagination.
