How to make Luminaries
by Sue Anne Miller

This is an easy project to light your driveways or doorways.

What you need

  • Gallon Or Quart Plastic Milk Cartons With No Lid
  • Sand (Either From The Beach Or Playsand)
  • Votive Candles
How to make it:
  • Cut a hole about 4 inches wide in the side of the milk carton but leave it so it is still attached.
  • Add enough sand to fill about a quarter of the way full
  • Place your votive candle in the middle of the sand.
  • Light candle and push the side (where you cut the whole) up so it is flush with the carton.
Tip:

You can also use water in place of the sand but, in the winter it will freeze. If using water just buy the floating candles.
