How to make Play-doh
by Sue Anne Miller

Modeling Clay

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups salt
  • 1 cup water
  • a few drops food coloring
Mix all ingreidents in a large bowl. If it's too sticky, add more flour. If too dry, add more water.

This dough can be used like clay. Give each child an amount of dough on a paper plate, then child can mold it into shapes or objects.

It will dry hard if left alone overnight. Store leftover dough in an air tight container.

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups water

  • 2 tablespoons alum or cream of tarter
  • 1 cup of salt
  • food coloring

Mix all dry ingredients in a large saucepan. Add food coloring to water, then add water and oil to dry mixture.

Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until it reaches the consistency of stiff mashed potatoes.
