Dr Farkas was born in Lorain, Ohio in 1938.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio State in 1964 and received a DVM from Ohio State in 1964.
Dr Farkas has had his own practice since receiving his degree.
He is in practice with his wife, Martha, who is also a vet and they have recently been joined by their son Joe, also a vet. He has one other son, Richard, who is a chef.
