The Scottish American Society will sponsor its 3rd Annual Celtic Beltane Festival, a Scottish Celebration of spring, at Maize Valley Farms in Hartville, Ohio, on May 19th & 20th, 2007, noon to 6:00 p.m.
Featured will be the MacCallum Highlanders Pipes and Drums, traditional Welsh dancers from Columbus, Ohio, the Tigh na Creige Highland dancers of Akron, The Heather Belles, a sophisticated, award winning highland dance group from the Cleveland area, and a Scottish country dance group from Kent, Ohio.
British Pastries, a Waulking demonstration, Highland Heavy Athletics and “Strong Man” competitions will also be featured. Music will all be traditional Celtic with a lively lilt, but no rock bands.
The musical entertainment will take place on the 19th. Athletic competitions will take place both days.
A portion of the profits from this event will be donated to Pegasus Farm – which features horseback riding for orthopedically handicapped children.
Sound system is provided by J and C Entertainment, Manager James Morehead. British foods provided by British Pastries of Leetonia, Ohio.
