Orange Scented Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Milk
  • 4 ounces chopped bittersweet or semi-sweet chocolate
  • 3 strips of orange peel (orange part only!) approx. 2 inches in length
  • ½ tsp. Instant Espresso or regular coffee powder
  • 1/8 tsp. Ground nutmeg

Instructions:

  • In a medium saucepan, combine all ingredients
  • Stir over a low heat until the chocolate melts.
  • Once the chocolate is melted, remove the mixture from the heat and whisk it until it is frothy.
  • Repeat three times. (Heat to boil, whisk until frothy).
  • Discard the orange peel.

This can be prepared up to two hours ahead of time. Let it stand at room temperature until ready to serve.

  • Just before serving bring to boil
  • Remove from heat and again, whisk until frothy.
  • Pour into coffee mugs.
