Birds in the Garden

Q: What can one do to prevent birds from eating the veggies and seeds?

A: I have had decent success by placing deer netting over my peach tree to keep birds and squirrels from having free rein at the fruit.

Deer netting should work for you, but you may need to create some sort of "suspension" to hold it up and away from the plants so that it doesn't lay right on them.

If it does, they can reach through the openings in the netting and you haven't gained anything.
