Congratulations to Cuyahoga County Sheriff Gerald T. McFaul. On Thursday, June 9, 2005 West 3rd Street from Superior Avenue to Lakeside Road became Sheriff Gerald T. McFaul Road.
The action was the result of a legislation sponsored by Joe Cimperman, Councilman of Ward 13. Cimperman is quoted as saying "Sheriff McFaul's commitment to our community is exemplary. The City of Cleveland is grateful for his many years of service to our city and for his dedication to public safety."
McFaul is the county's longest serving chief law enforcement officer and Cimperman says this "is a small token of our appreciation for Sheriff McFaul's service to Greater Cleveland."
Councilman Cimperman, Cuyahoga County Commissioners Tim Hagan and Jimmy
Dimora, Former Cleveland City Council President and President of the Cleveland NAACP, George Forbes spoke at the ceremony. Sheriff McFaul also spoke at the event, recalling stories from some of his 28 years in office.
This is extra special because, as Norma Malloy, McFaul's secretary point out "We can look out the window and see Gerald T. McFaul Road."
